JAMB Reveals the Number of Candidates that Scored 100 and Above in 2018 UTME

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede has disclosed that at least 1, 178,665 candidates scored 100 and above in the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
He further revelaed that out of 1,840,225 candidates who wrote the examination, only 800,000 had the five credits ordinary level (O’ level) minimum requirements.


He said: “There are 767 tertiary higher institutions in Nigeria and about 560,168 candidates have been admitted. About 20 per cent of the candidates are in SS2, they only took JAMB for trials.”

The JAMB registrar however stated that the involvement of parents in examination malpractice remains a major challenge for the Board as most parents can go to any length to ensure their children pass the examination at all cost. He pointed out cases of parents paying huge amount of money into fraudulent account in order to pave way for their wards.

Mother climbs school fence in Anambra to get her kid over monkeypox rumours (photos)

As seen in viral photos, a woman was spotted climbing the school fence of her child in Anambra state over monkeypox rumours. The pictures of this woman were shared on Facebook by Blossom Martins on Wednesday, October 11. Martins claimed that this woman climbed the fence when she heard that soldiers were injecting pupils with monkeypox.
