JAMB Official Cut-Off for 2018 Will be Decided in June

JAMB will decide the official 2018 Cut-Off Marks for Admissions into tertiary institutions for the 2018/2019 academic session in the month of JUNE. This was disclosed by The board’s Head of Media and Information Department, Fabian Benjamin, during an interview held in Lagos today. ALSO READ: JAMB Begins Change of Course, Institution & Data Correction For 2018 He also stated that no Institution is allowed to Admit any student until the cut-off mark for admission has been decided, pointing out that any school admitting students before then, is doing so illegally. Mr Benjamin confirmed that the policy meeting will hold in June, and this will be chaired by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu. It is clear that at this point, No Cut-Off Mark has been released by JAMB for 2018 Admissions. No official date in June has been announced for this policy meeting.

JAMB Reveals the Number of Candidates that Scored 100 and Above in 2018 UTME

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede has disclosed that at least 1, 178,665 candidates scored 100 and above in the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). He further revelaed that out of 1,840,225 candidates who wrote the examination, only 800,000 had the five credits ordinary level (O’ level) minimum requirements. He said: “There are 767 tertiary higher institutions in Nigeria and about 560,168 candidates have been admitted. About 20 per cent of the candidates are in SS2, they only took JAMB for trials.” The JAMB registrar however stated that the involvement of parents in examination malpractice remains a major challenge for the Board as most parents can go to any length to ensure their children pass the examination at all cost. He pointed out cases of parents paying huge amount of money into fraudulent account in order to pave way for their wards.

All candidates who wish to effect changes on either their course, institution or their bio-data details can proceed to do so at the closest JAMB CBT accredited centre. You can also correct your Bio-data which include your name, date of birth, gender, State and Local Government of origin. We know many 2018 JAMB candidates who wish to change their course or institution are eager to know if the JAMB change of course/institution for 2018 has commenced. At the moment, there has not been any official announcement as to whether or not the process has commenced for 2018. There have been rumours that the process has begun. We are yet to confirm the credibility of this. However, we are going to use this thread to monitor this and confirm if it has actually started and if not, then this thread will equally help us to know when it has commenced.. One of the important things you need to know is the possible cut-off mark of you school of choice for 2018/2019 admission. This will enable you to know if you qualify for your school admission screening and equally help you determine if you need to go for JAMB change of course and or institution when it begins.
