Cristiano Ronaldo: I do not see myself as a coach

Real Madrid attacker Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he does not plan to become a coach when he retires adding that he likes 'to live in the present'.

Speaking to Nike, the 32-year-old reiterated that he does not intend becoming a coach like most footballers.

"It is difficult to say what I will do in the future, but one thing is clear to me: I like to live in the present," the striker said. "I know I will not be young forever, I do not see myself as a coach today."

The former Manchester United striker also spoke of what motivated him to become a footballer and what age he decided to become one.

"At the age of 16, I felt I could be a professional soccer player, at 15 or 16, when I started training with my first team, Sporting, where I felt I could be a professional footballer," he added.


The five-time Ballon d'Or winner started his footballing career at the likes of C.F. Andorinha and CD Nacional before joining Sporting CP's U15 side in 1997.

Ronaldo would go on to spend six years in Lisbon before leaving the LeƵes to join Manchester United in 2003.

He later joined Real Madrid in 2009 for over £80m and has gone on to feature in 406 games for the Spanish giants, scoring 414 goals across all competitions.
